When you send out a new investment opportunity, what I do to figure out if we want to invest or not, is to look at the numbers you provide, and calculate CO2/1000€ invested, and €/ton CO2. (I know one gives the other, but I somehow like seeing both of these in plain numbers as I haven’t decided which is my favourite 😅) The loans “climate efficiency” vary quite a lot and we’d like our money making the biggest climate impact possible. Perhaps more Triners are interested in one of these values, maybe €/ton CO2, and if so, it would be a neat service to see it in your interface.

I find it very hard to understand why the efficiency of loans differs so much. For instance, Bisedge 4 supposedly saves 4 300 tCO₂ while Bisedge 5 saves only 1 430 tCO₂ while borrowing approximately the same amount of money for the same amount of time, and as far as I can tell doing the same thing (financing electric trucks). How can this be?

HI Erland, In this fifth loan to Bisedge, 11 of the 40 electric forklifts will be replacing diesel powered vehicles. The remaining 29 units will be replacing existing electric forklifts operating at the sites today. This has been taken into account when performing the impact calculation, and the CO2 avoided per Euro is therefore lower compared to previous Trine loans to Bisedge. Best regards Trine
